A Floating Sound + Ceremony Space Has Arrived on Tamborine Mountain

Set over the waters of Lotus Lake, SOL Elements’ newest addition brings sound, tea and shared ritual into the heart of the hinterland.

There’s something about experiencing a practice outside its usual setting that changes the way we meet it. Sound in a studio is one thing. Sound carried across water, surrounded by rainforest, is something else entirely.

On Tamborine Mountain, SOL Elements has added a floating sound and ceremony platform to its elemental bathhouse - a new space created for sound healing, tea ceremonies, intimate performances and communal gatherings on Lotus Lake. The platform was unveiled as part of SOL’s first-birthday expansion, alongside a new private massage and alchemy suite.

Sound, water and nature

SOL Elements opened in 2025 as a floating bathhouse and wellness sanctuary at Tamborine Mountain Glades in the Gold Coast Hinterland. Built over the water and surrounded by subtropical rainforest, the phone-free space draws on the elements of earth, air, fire and water throughout its design and experiences.

Inside, guests move between mineral-rich thermal pools, cold plunges, a cedar sauna, botanical steam room, Himalayan salt sanctuary and an alfresco fire pit that descends towards the lake. There are also floatation caves and more private spa experiences.

The newest platform extends that experience further onto the lake itself, surrounded by 360-degree views of the rainforest canopy.

Rather than treating the surrounding landscape simply as a backdrop, co-founder Shae Raven says the intention was to bring “sound, water, and nature together,” making Lotus Lake part of the wellness experience itself.

The platform is designed to host visiting sound artists and practitioners, as well as intimate performances and guided tea ceremonies inspired by Japanese traditions. Los Angeles-based sound practitioner Gabriel Logan Braun has already performed as part of SOL’s first-birthday celebrations.

The expansion also introduces a private Couples Massage and Alchemy Suite overlooking Lotus Lake. Designed for shared treatments, the space brings together massage, aromatherapy and sound, with experiences intended for partners, friends and family alike.

More than somewhere to soak

What caught our attention isn’t simply another beautiful bathhouse addition. It’s the way spaces like SOL are beginning to blur the lines between wellness, ritual, nature and gathering.

A bathhouse might once have been somewhere you went to soak, steam or receive a treatment. Here, the experience is becoming something more participatory: listening to sound together, sharing tea, gathering around fire and experiencing a practice within the landscape.

And perhaps that’s what makes this particular addition interesting. The platform isn’t introducing a new modality so much as creating a different environment in which to encounter practices that have existed in various forms for much longer.

For anyone curious about sound healing or ceremonial tea but unsure where those practices might fit into modern life, spaces like this offer one possible answer: not removed from everyday life entirely, but woven into an experience designed to make slowing down feel a little easier.

SOL Elements is located at Tamborine Mountain Glades in the Gold Coast Hinterland, around 50 minutes from Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Current experiences and bookings can be explored directly through SOL Elements.

There’s more to feeling well. Stay curious.
